Rick Titus scored the first of his two goals in the second half to spark the Edmonton Drillers to a 17-10 comeback victory over the Montreal Impact in an indoor National Professional Soccer League game Wednesday night at Saskatchewan Place. Carmen D'Onofrio, Sipho Sibiya, Nikola Vignjevic, Todd Rattee, LeBaron Hollimon and Kevin Holness also scored for the Drillers (12-5), who rallied from a 4-0 halftime deficit. Chris Stathopoulos, with two goals, Patrick Diotte, Mauro Bello and Giuliano Oliviero replied for the Impact (12-9). Montreal took a 2-0 lead in the first period on Diotte's first goal of the season, at 8:48. Shepherd made 11 saves to set a club record for saves in a period. Bello gave Montreal a 4-0 lead at 9:55 of the second period. It was the second time in three games the Drillers had been held without a goal in the first half. Titus started the Edmonton rally when he deflected in a shot by Rattee at 7:45 of the third. D'Onofrio then tied the game and goals by Sibiya and Vignjevic gave the Drillers an 8-4 lead heading into the fourth. Stathopoulos got Montreal back within two points, but Rattee and Hollimon put the Drillers ahead 12-6 with just over five minutes remaining. Oliviero and Stathopoulos made it 12-10, but Holness, a Saskatchewan native, and Titus scored to clinch the win.
