No sooner had I finished a letter to the editor with regards to Mark Spector's commentary March 4 than I find myself having to address his column of March 6.
As a new fan of the Drillers, I have found it frustrating to search through the sports section in search of articles on the Drillers. Joanne Ireland has reported on home games, but information on road games is almost nonexistent. Now it seems Spector has become a self-proclaimed soccer analyst who seems set on destroying the SOS campaign of the Edmonton Drillers.
You don't like the music at the games? Well, unlike a number of hockey fans who rely on beer to get them enthusiastic or coffee to keep them awake, the Drillers use music to add the crowd into the game. Opponents have commented on how loud the building is and how vocal the crowd is. The crowd is meant to be part of the team and the players appreciate it.
