The Detroit Rockers spotted the Edmonton Drillers three points before whipping them 18-3 Thursday.
The Drill (18-18) had first-quarter goals from Damir Jesic and Nikola Vignjevic before Detroit started racking up the points -- five points late in the second quarter, five more in 87 seconds in the third, then eight in the final frame.
The Rockers (15-21) were well on their way to victory when Vignjevic was tossed for expressing his views to the referee.
Edmonton has a 1-1 record on its seven-game road trip. Next stop is Wichita for two weekend games against the Wings, starting on Saturday.
w In Edmonton, general manager Ron Knol said the club will hit the 1,000 mark in season-ticket sales by the weekend. Most of the commitments are from new customers, he said.
