Kansas City, here they come.

The Edmonton Drillers will take on the Kansas City Attack in the National Conference semifinals of the National Professional Soccer League.

The Attack knocked the Wichita Wings out of the playoffs Sunday with a 21-10 victory in the third and deciding game of the conference quarter-finals.

The Drillers haven't played since March 31 -- the night they clinched the conference title.

"It's time to get going," said coach Ross Ongaro. "The time off is good but after a while it becomes a detriment because you have to keep the intensity up at practice and with that comes injuries.

"You want to protect them but keep them sharp."

The Attack and Drillers meet Thursday in the Crosby Kemper Arena, then the series moves to Edmonton.

Game 2 goes April 19 at Skyreach. If a third game is required it will be played April 20.

The Drillers posted a 3-2 record against the Attack in the regular season series.

"They're a hard-working team and they have more than one player who can score goals," said Ongaro. "They also won the championship a couple of years ago so they have that on their side.

"It's going to be a really tough series."
